2009 April PAD Challenge: Closure
March 4, 2010 4:04 PM

from Robert Lee Brewer, editor of Writer's Market...

[...]I consider the 2009 April PAD Challenge an amazing success.
More than 1,000 poets shared more than 25,000 poems on the Poetic Asides blog--and many more poets let me know they were creating poems they weren't sharing on the blog. So, I consider all of that an amazing success. I just wish I could've done a little more on my end.
[...]

Okay, here's what I am going to do to wrap things up. I've had to make some concessions for the sake of moving forward with the 2010 April PAD Challenge. Instead of creating an eBook with the Top 50 poems chosen by guest judges and myself, I'm going to share the Top 5 poems for each day, which would've been the poems sent to the guest judges.

If your name is not in the bunch, do not get upset. Simple math shows that only about one-half of one percent of the poems (or .006) could be chosen. Conversely, if your name is among this Top 150 list, you should feel pretty awesome about your poem.

Here we go:

Day 1
[nothing too interesting...]

Day 2

1.The Estranged Wife Comes to Dinner, by Lisa McCool-Grime
2.The Final Cut, by Jeanne Klaver
3.Provision, by Kimberlee Thompson

[wait for it...]

4.History of My Body, by Marie-Elizabeth Mali

5. Cul de Sac: Juniper Place, by Laura Hohlwein
